COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith was chosen as the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Smith scored two touchdowns to help the No. 3 Buckeyes secure a 38-7 win over Michigan State on Saturday. He had a 19-yard rushing touchdown and a one-handed grab for a receiving touchdown.
Smith also finished with five receptions for 83 yards and 102 all-purpose yards.
So far for the season, he ranks second in the conference in receiving yards per game (91.0), third in touchdown receptions (five) and fifth in receiving yards (364). His yardage total is fourth-most among true freshman wide receivers in school history and his 19 receptions rank fifth.

The last Ohio State Freshman of the Week honor went to running back Dallan Hayden in 2022.
