Among the levies and bonds on the ballot was one placed by the Central Ohio Transit Authority. The LinkUS COTA tax levy passed and would expand transit and access to sidewalks and bikeways.
The $8 billion levy would increase the local sales tax in Columbus from 7.5% to 8%, increasing COTA's overall share from 0.5% to 1%. That money will generate public funding for the LinkUS initiative. Officials say this would increase COTA services by 45%.
Several school districts also have bonds or levies on the ballot this November, including Bexley, Grandview Heights, Groveport Madison, Hilliard, New Albany-Plain and Reynoldsburg.
