COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police is looking to identify two persons of interest in connection to a fatal shooting at a park in east Columbus Monday night.
The shooting, which left two men dead, happened on Alton Avenue at Krumm Park.
The men killed were identified by the Franklin County Coroner's Office as 29-year-old Lonnie Johnston and 18-year-old Jakwaun Kimbro.
Investigators believe there were multiple shooters.
According to police, detectives believe the persons of interest returned fire after shots were fired at them.
Anyone who knows the identity or whereabouts of these people is asked to call Columbus Police’s Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477 (TIPS).
Earlier in the evening, a vigil was held at the park for 18-year-old Da’Mya Cummerlander. The woman was fatally shot early Sunday morning in the 2600 block of Woodsedge Road. Police say it is unclear if Monday night's shooting is connected to the vigil.
A 20-year-old man, Kenneth Hairston, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in Cummerlander's death.
Sgt. Joe Albert said about 50 people were at the park for the vigil when officers arrived.
No information on a suspect was available.
