COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 23-year-old man was sentenced Monday to at least a decade in prison for calling in two bomb threats to Delaware Hayes High School in 2022 as well as other charges.

Naseem Abdus-Salaam was sentenced by Delaware County Common Pleas Judge James Schuck to 10 to 12 years in prison after he was found guilty of multiple charges by a jury. His charges included inducing panic, menacing by stalking, intimidation of a witness and violating protection orders.

On May 4 and 5, 2022 two separate bomb threats were called in to Delaware Hayes High School. After an investigation by the Delaware Police Department, it was determined that the calls came from a phone number belonging to Abdus-Salaam.

Further investigation uncovered years of stalking and targeting of a witness.

He was given a four-to-six-year sentence for the inducing panic conviction and an additional six years in prison for the convictions of menacing by stalking, intimidation of a witness and violation of protection orders.

“I am thankful the victim in this case can rest now knowing that this man is behind bars for 10-12 years.” Delaware County Prosecutor Melissa Schiffel said.
