COLUMBUS, Ohio — A jury found a 23-year-old man guilty of inducing panic on Friday after two bomb threats were called in to Delaware Hayes High School in 2022.
According to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office, Naseem Abdus-Salaam was found guilty of inducing panic, menacing by stalking, intimidation of a victim and violating a protection order.
On May 4 and 5, 2022 two separate bomb threats were called in to Delaware Hayes High School. After an investigation by the Delaware Police Department, it was determined that the calls came from a phone number belonging to Abdus-Salaam.
Further investigation uncovered years of stalking and targeting of another individual.
“We are thankful the jury saw through the defendant’s excuses and charades and found him guilty of all charges," prosecutor Melissa Schiffel said.
Abdus-Salaam has a sentencing hearing scheduled for Jan. 29, 2024 at 3 p.m.
