COLUMBUS, Ohio — A grand jury voted not to indict members of the Columbus Division of Police’s SWAT Unit in a fatal shooting that happened earlier this year outside a Home Depot in Grove City, according to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office.
SWAT members were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on 46-year-old Bret Andrews, who was wanted for felony rape, on Feb. 11 in the parking lot of the Home Depot on Stringtown Road.
In bodycam video from one of the officers, they can be heard telling Andrews, who is sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car, to put his hands up. The officer can be heard saying Andrews was reaching before he and another officer fired their weapons. The video shows the officer firing three shots while another officer fired at least five shots.

Bodycam video from another officer begins after the shots were already fired. The officer can be heard saying Andrews has a gun next to his right hand while other officers break the vehicle's window to get him out.
Andrews was taken to Grant Medical Center for multiple gunshot wounds where he was pronounced dead about 30 minutes after the shooting.
A gun was recovered from the scene.
