Election Day 2024 expected to be hottest on record

If we look specifically on Nov. 5, we’ve seen quite the climate variability on this day over the last 140 years or so.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Election Day 2024 is expected to be the hottest on record since record keeping started in the late 1800s.

If we look specifically on Nov. 5, we’ve seen quite the climate variability on this day over the last 140 years or so.

The forecast high today is 80 degrees and the previous record high on November 5 was 77 degrees set back in 2022. This means that we could beat the all time record high for this day!

🗳️ 2024 VOTER GUIDE

The coldest daily record was 14 degrees set back in 1991 and the snowiest was 1.2” set back in 1992.

The rainiest day was back in 2017 when we received 1.72” of rainfall.

The warm weather for Tuesday is consistent with what average temperatures are in early June! The warm start to November may also be an indicator of what to expect this winter, which the Climate Prediction Center calls for an unseasonably mild winter, with below average snowfall.
