COLUMBUS, Ohio β A Weather Impact Day has been declared for Wednesday morning due to dense fog.
In the wake of the rain Tuesday morning, winds have decreased and skies have cleared somewhat. Widespread fog is expected to reduce visibility to less than ΒΌ mile in some locations overnight and into Wednesday morning, which may make driving difficult where you live (or where you're going).
A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. for the following counties:
Crawford, Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Fayette, Hocking, Knox, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, Pike, Scioto, Ross, Union
The primary issue with the fog is that it will not reduce visibility equally across the viewing area. So quickly changing visibilities, from near normal to greatly reduced visibility in dense fog, will be a challenge in the morning.
Drivers are advised to drive slow, use low-beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between you and the car ahead of you.
In addition, flight delays may occur so check to make sure your departing or arriving flights are on time.
The weather then transitions to rain and wind, followed by falling temperatures late Wednesday and into Thursday, leading to Weather Impact Days for Thursday and Friday morning.
