Storm system sweeping through central Ohio on Thursday to bring rain, snow and wind

Much colder air is slated to arrive Wednesday night which will lead to rain showers mixing with snow, with a change to all snow possible by early Thursday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 10TV Weather Impact Day has been declared for Thursday due to rain, wind and a storm system bringing our first chance of snow this season.

While our upcoming weekend will be fine and temperatures will be well above normal to start next week, there will be a significant change in the weather starting Wednesday.

Ahead of the developing storm system, central Ohio will deal with several rounds of rain and mild temperatures Tuesday and into Wednesday.

There are still many days ahead of the approaching storm system and a lot can change between now and then. But forecast models continue to trend toward the coldest air we've seen so far this season, so we're providing advance notice for the possibility of winter weather.

It's too soon to share any potential snowfall amounts, but the 10 Weather Impact team will continue to monitor the developing situation and provide frequent updates.

Fortunately, this storm system will move out almost as quickly as it moves in, providing some relief from the wintry weather in time for the upcoming weekend.
