The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF0 tornado hit Fayette County during a serve storm system early Thursday morning.
Weather Service officials say the twister hit around 3:25 a.m., three miles west of Washington Court House.
No one was injured and there were no fatalities. However, at least three homes on US 22 suffered structural damage, including one with significant roof destruction.
Officials say structure and tree damage, combined with evidence of rotation, confirmed a tornado of at least an EF0 strength hit the area.
An EF0 tornado has wind speeds of at least 80 mph.
The damage survey is ongoing and more information will be released by the NWS at a later date.
Also on Thursday, an EF0 tornado touched down in Clinton County, northeast of Cincinnati.
Thursday's twister comes just weeks after an EF0 tornado hit northeast Columbus on June 4.
