AEP Ohio to close portions of I-270 in Hilliard overnight to make upgrades to power grid

COLUMBUS, Ohio — AEP Ohio will be closing down portions of Interstate 270 during the overnight hours beginning Tuesday while crews install electric power poles and wires.

The closures will happen on a rolling basis daily from Oct. 8-15 beginning at 11:59 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m.

AEP Ohio says I-270 will be closed about a half-mile north of the Roberts Road exit. Installations will be along the north side of Scioto Darby Creek Road in Hilliard.

The rolling roadblocks will happen in 15-minute intervals while crews make upgrades to the power grid. Drivers will be notified by signage and state and local police will be nearby to direct traffic.
