I-70 in west Columbus reopens after injury crash closes highway

According to Columbus Police, three vehicles were struck from behind by a tractor-trailer on I-70 eastbound just east of Hilliard-Rome Road.

Interstate 70 was closed in both directions between I-270 and Hilliard Rome Road for several hours Thursday because of an injury crash.

According to Columbus Police, three vehicles were struck from behind by a tractor-trailer on I-70 eastbound just east of Hilliard-Rome Road.

Police said all three drivers sustained injuries and were taken to local hospitals.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

A second tractor-trailer was hit by one of the vehicles and sustained minor damage.

Police said three additional vehicles traveling westbound on I-70 were hit by flying debris from the collision.

This collision remains under investigation.
