Westbound lanes of I-70 near downtown Columbus to close for the weekend

Here's how to get around the closure.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in between Interstate 71 and state Route 315 in Columbus will close Friday night.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the lanes will close at 10 p.m. and will not reopen until 5 a.m. on Dec. 16.

Drivers can take I-71 North to I-670 West to Route 315 South to I-70 West to get around the closure.

The closures come as construction crews continue to work on the I-70/71 reconstruction project, which is due to be finished in the fall of 2025.
