Police investigating connection between stabbing, body found on I-670 as attempted murder-suicide

All lanes of I-670 East at Grandview Avenue have reopened after being closed during the investigation.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police are investigating an attempted murder-suicide after a woman was reportedly stabbed in Grandview Heights and a man was found dead on Interstate 670 near the city Wednesday morning.

Just after 7 a.m., the Grandview Heights Division of Police was alerted to a man climbing the railing on the Grandview Avenue bridge over I-670.  The man jumped and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:21 a.m.

Police said around the same time, a woman who had apparent stab wounds walked into the police department. She was treated by medics and taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for treatment. Her condition was described as stable.

Officers are investigating a scene in the 1000 block of Grandview Avenue. Police are looking into what may have led to the stabbing. 

Grandview Heights police confirmed that the two scenes are connected, but additional information was not available. Columbus police are assisting the Grandview Heights police department with the investigation.
