COLUMBUS, Ohio — A wintry mix of rain and snow moved through central Ohio on Thanksgiving morning.
A 10TV Weather Impact Day has been issued for Thursday morning as roads could be slick for people traveling through the state for the holiday.
Rain will continue through about midnight Wednesday, then begin mixing with snow early Thursday morning.
The latest weather models show the storm moving faster than previously thought, therefore, this will only be a Thursday morning event. The heaviest precipitation falls between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.
Be cautious as there could be slick spots on the roads on Thursday. Models are indicating that a light, slushy accumulation is possible, but with the ground still warm and air temperatures in the mid to upper 30s, any accumulations won't stick around too long.
Similar to last week, accumulations are most likely in higher elevations to the north and west of Columbus, such as Bellefontaine, Kenton, Mansfield and Mount Vernon stand the best chance of seeing around 1" of snow.
Colder air will bring a few flurries Friday, with the bitter cold sticking around through the weekend and into next week.
