Ohio State women’s basketball associate head coach resigns amid investigation into alleged violations

In a statement, the Department of Athletics said Ohio State is investigating allegations of violations of NCAA rules and university policy.

Ohio State Women’s basketball Associated Head Coach Patrick Klein has resigned in a letter to the university.

In a statement, the Department of Athletics said Ohio State is investigating allegations of violations of NCAA rules and university policy with in the program.

Klein was placed on administrative leave on July 26.

Klein wrote in his resignation letter:

"Over the course of the past two weeks it has come to my attention that some of my actions as a coach have not adhered strictly to NCAA rules. I've also been made aware that in some instances, my communications with some student-athletes may have been too informal or in some cases even inappropriate, violating university policy. I apologize for these mistakes and realize that I should have used better judgment."

On Friday, July 26, Klein was placed on administrative leave while the university investigates. Ohio State is working diligently to conclude its review of this matter.”
