BOULDER, Colo. — Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter has capped off a stellar college career with a Heisman Trophy win.
Hunter was announced as the 2024 recipient of the award, which recognizes the best player in college football, during a ceremony Saturday night. The other three finalists were Oregon's Dillon Gabriel, Boise State's Ashton Jeanty and Miami's Cam Ward.
Hunter will go down as one of the great two-way players in history. He was named All-Big 12 first-team receiver and earned honorable mention for offensive player of the year. He leads the Big 12 with 92 receptions and 14 receiving touchdowns and is second with 1,152 yards. His 21 receiving plays of 20-plus yards lead the nation.

He also is Big 12 defensive player of the year and a unanimous first-team defensive back after recording 31 tackles, tying for the Big 12 lead with 11 pass breakups and tying for second with four interceptions.
On Thursday night, Hunter won the Bednarik Award for the top defensive player in college football. He also won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's best wide receiver and the Walter Camp Award for college football's player of the year.
The receiver-cornerback is the first player in Big 12 history to have both an interception and an offensive touchdown in multiple games.
Hunter is just the second player in Colorado's history to win the trophy, after Buffs running back Rashaan Salaam won in 1994.
The Buffaloes play their final game of the season in the Alamo Bowl Dec. 28, facing the Brigham Young University Cougars. Buffs head coach Deion Sanders has said the team's full lineup, including Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, will play in the game. Both Hunter and Sanders are projected to be first-round picks in the 2025 NFL draft in April.
