COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pair of Ohio State Buckeyes was selected in the 2024 WNBA Draft Monday night.

Jacy Sheldon, a 5-year guard, was selected fifth overall by the Dallas Wings.

Sheldon helped lead the Buckeyes to a 26-6 record last season, averaging a team-high 17.8 points and 3.75 assists a game.

The Buckeyes were a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They fell to No. 7 seed Duke in the second round.

Sheldon, a Dublin native, played five seasons with Ohio State. Statistically, her best year came in 2021-22 when she averaged nearly 20 points and four assists a game.

Sheldon started in 118 of 130 possible games, dating back to the 2019-20 season. She is the 18th player in the program's history to be selected in the WNBA Draft.

She received third team All-America recognition earlier this year by the United States Basketball Writers Association.

Guard Celeste Taylor was selected in the second round by the Indiana Fever.

During Taylor's lone season with the Buckeyes, she averaged just over 10 points, four rebounds and three assists a game.

Taylor will be teaming up with Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark.

The WNBA season kicks off May 14.
