COLUMBUS, Ohio — Soccer legend Lionel Messi is expected to play Wednesday night as Inter Miami CF face off against Columbus Crew Wednesday night.
The match is set for 7:45 p.m. at Lower.com Field. The cheapest verified resale tickets available on Ticketmaster are currently going for about $170.
Messi was not able to play the two times Miami has played Columbus since he joined the club.
Miami beat the Crew 2-1 during their regular season game in June but lost in the second round of the Leagues Cup in August.
There was hope Messi was going to be able to play in the MLS All-Star game earlier this year, but he sat out due to an injury and did not show up to Columbus.
Miami, who is leading the Eastern Conference, can secure the Supporters' Shield with a win on Wednesday. The Crew are second in the conference. They're behind by eight points with four games left to go.
