COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s women’s hockey team earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 2024 National Collegiate Ice Hockey Tournament and will play in the regional final next weekend.
This is the team’s third year in a row earning the No. 1 overall seed and hosting the NCAA tournament games.
During the first round of the Columbus regional on March 14, Minnesota Duluth and UConn will face each other. The puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
The Buckeyes will then play the winner of the matchup. The NCAA quarterfinals is set for 4 p.m. on March 16 at the Ohio State Ice Rink.
The Buckeyes are making their sixth appearance and fifth consecutive appearance in the tournament this season. They recently won the 2024 WCHA regular season championship and advanced to the WCHA Final Faceoff championship game.
According to The Ohio State University Athletics, the first and second round games at the OSU Ice Rink are ticketed. Those go on sale at noon on March 11.
No. 2 seed Wisconsin will host and play the winner of the regional semifinal between St. Lawrence and Penn State which will be held Thursday at LaBahn Arena.
Colgate enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will match up against the winner of Thursday’s regional semifinal between Cornell and Stonehill.
Clarkson, the No. 4 seed, will host Minnesota, the No. 5 seed, on March 16 in a regional final.
The winning team from each regional final will advance to the 2024 NCAA Women's Frozen Four on March 22 and 24.
