CHICAGO — The Ohio State men's and women's hockey teams are taking a trip to Chicago next year for a series of outdoor games at Wrigley Field.
The teams will participate in The Frozen Confines: Big Ten Hockey Series in January 2025.
The series will feature three Big Ten men’s hockey games, plus a Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) women’s game, the weekend of January 3-4, 2025.
The game pairings are as follows:
Friday, January 3, 2025: Penn State vs. Notre Dame, Ohio State vs. Michigan
Saturday, January 4, 2025: Ohio State vs. Wisconsin (WCHA), Wisconsin vs. Michigan State.
The Buckeye women’s matchup against the Badgers will be the second of a weekend series between the teams. Game one will be played Thursday, Jan. 2 in Madison, Wis., replacing the previously scheduled series in February.
The game in Chicago will be the fifth outdoor game for the Buckeye men in recent years. The Buckeye women have played in one outdoor game in 2020.
In addition to the hockey teams, the Ohio State football team will also play at Wrigley Field this year. The Buckeyes play Northwestern on Nov. 16 at the Friendly Confines.
