COLUMBUS, Ohio — Officials with the Memorial Tournament announced Tuesday that newly minted PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele will compete in this year's tournament.
Schauffele is currently ranked as No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking and will join several other members in the top 10 in Dublin.
Other newly announced entries include The Open Championship winner Brian Harman, 2019 The Open champion Shane Lowry and six-time PGA TOUR winner Tony Finau.
The current players committed to playing in the Memorial and in the top 10 world rankings are as follows: No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 2 Schauffele, No. 3 Rory McIlroy, No. 4 Wyndham Clark, No. 5 Viktor Hovland (the defending Memorial Tournament winner), No. 8 Patrick Cantlay (2019 and 2021 Memorial Tournament winner), No. 9 Collin Morikawa and No. 10 Harman.
The Memorial is June 3-9 at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Below is a breakdown of the newly committed players, provided by the Memorial Tournament.
Schauffele, 30, earned his eighth-career PGA TOUR victory and first major title earlier this month at the 106th PGA Championship with a record-setting 21-under-par performance at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Schauffele, the No. 2 golfer in the world and in the FedExCup points standings, tied the major championship record (a record of which he already owned a share) to open play at Valhalla with a first-round 62, followed by a pair of 68s, before closing with a 65 to claim the Wanamaker Trophy by one shot over 2018 Memorial Tournament winner Bryson DeChambeau. Schauffele’s breakthrough major championship win was his 11th top-10 finish in a major, including two second-place efforts. The California native is on pace for a banner season in 2024 with nine top-10s in 13 starts, including runner-up finishes at THE PLAYERS Championship and Wells Fargo
Championship to go with his victory at the PGA. Since turning professional in 2015, Schauffele has recorded 114 top-25 finishes, five coming at the Memorial Tournament over six starts, his best in 2021 with a T11 effort. His scoring average at Muirfield Village Golf Club is 71.59 with career Tournament earnings of $866,710. Schauffele’s career accolades include the 2016-17 Arnold Palmer Award as the PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year and a gold medal in 2021 at the XXXII Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the men’s individual stroke play competition with an 18-under-par finish.
Lowry, 37, captured his third career PGA TOUR victory this year at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with playing partner Rory McIlroy. Lowry has four top-10s this season after recording a T6 finish at the PGA Championship. It was his eighth top-10 at a major⎯one of which was his victory in The Open Championship in 2019 at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland⎯and included a third-round 62, matching the record single-round score in a major held by Schauffele, Rickie Fowler and Branden Grace. Lowry is ranked No. 10 in FedExCup points and No. 33 in the world. Lowry will make his eighth start at this year’s Memorial Tournament where his scoring average is 72.13 to go with career earnings of $822,199.80. He has three top-20 finishes at Muirfield Village Golf Club, his best result a T6 in 2021. The native of Clara, Ireland, has collected four international victories and competed in two Ryder Cups for team Europe (2020, 2023).
Finau, 34, will make his eighth appearance at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday and first since 2021. He has recorded four top-20 finishes at Muirfield Village Golf Club, including two inside the top-10. His Tournament scoring average sits at 71.04 with career earnings of $855,142.67. The Utah native, now living in Scottsdale, Arizona, has collected eight top-25 finishes over 14 starts this season, a T2 at the Texas Children’s Houston Open counted among them, which marks his 11th career runner-up since joining the PGA TOUR in 2015. Finau owns six TOUR titles after back-to-back multi-win seasons in 2021-22 and 2022-23 and has three straight seasons with at least one win. Finau has earned nine top-10s in major championships, his best finish a third place at The Open Championship in 2019. He has been a member of two U.S. Presidents Cup teams (2019, 2022) and two U.S. Ryder Cup teams (2018, 2020).
Harman, 37, is coming off a career-best PGA TOUR season that included three second place finishes and his third TOUR title and first major at the 151st The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, Merseyside, England. Harman’s banner 2022-23 campaign led to a 23rd place finish in FedExCup points and his first Ryder Cup appearance for Team USA. He is currently ranked No. 10 in the world and 18th in FedExCup points on the strength of seven top-25s, two inside the top-10 including a T2 outing at THE PLAYERS Championship. The Georgia native will make his 10th start at this year’s Memorial Tournament. His best result was T18 in 2022. His scoring average at Muirfield Village Golf Club is 73.33 with $251,945 in Tournament earnings.
