COLUMBUS, Ohio — Quarterback Will Howard was briefly taken off the field after taking a big hit in the second quarter of the Ohio State-Michigan game.
Howard was running the ball to the left side and took a big hit from defensive back Makari Paige. He stayed down for several minutes after the play.
The replay showed Paige hit Howard's head with his shoulder pad.
Howard was eventually helped up and taken to the sideline to be checked out.
Devin Brown came in for two plays before Howard returned.
The hit happened as Ohio State was driving into Michigan territory, with big chunk plays from Quinshon Judkins and Emeka Egbuka.
The drive ended in a missed field goal attempt and the Buckeyes turned the ball back over to Michigan on the 20-yard-line.
