COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two Ohio State Buckeyes won Big Ten player of the week honors after their performances in Saturday's takedown of Indiana.

Quarterback Will Howard was named the Big Ten's Co-Offensive Player of the Week alongside Illinois wide receiver Pat Bryant. Linebacker Cody Simon was named Defensive Player of the Week.

This is the second time this month that Howard has won Offensive Player of the Week. In this week's game, he completed 22 of 26 passes for 201 yards and accounted for three touchdowns.

He's the first quarterback in program history to complete at least 80% of his passes in six games during a season. Howard now leads the nation in completion percentage with 74%.

Simon led the Ohio State defense and finished with 10 tackles and added a career-high 2.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

He is the Buckeyes' second-leading tackler through 11 games with 65 total stops to go along with eight tackles for loss and five sacks. He’s been the leader of a defense that currently has top-five national rankings on scoring defense, total defense, rushing defense and passing defense.

The No. 2 Buckeyes finish the regular season in a rivalry game against Michigan at the 'Shoe on Saturday.
