COLUMBUS, Ohio — "What's a destination without the journey? It's the journey that really tells the whole story."
That's the question posed by two-time Heisman Trophy winner and legendary Ohio State Buckeye Archie Griffin in the first hype video of the 2024 season.
The Buckeyes welcome the Akron Zips to Ohio Stadium to open the season on Saturday. It's the start of what Ohio State hopes will be a championship season.
"The road ahead won't be easy, but this is what we've been building toward."
You can watch the game trailer below.
The Buckeyes will play their first three games at home. After Akron, they will host Western Michigan and Marshall. Ohio State has won 24 consecutive season-opening games.
Big Ten play starts for the Scarlet and Gray on Sept. 28 when head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes travel to East Lansing to take on Michigan State.
Ohio State will face newly added Big Ten member Oregon on Oct. 12 in Eugene. Other notable tests for the Buckeyes include traveling to Penn State on Nov. 2 and the final game of the season at home against rival Michigan.
