Ohio State football press conference: Ryan Day speaks ahead of top-5 matchup against Oregon

The Oregon game will be Ohio State's first match against a ranked opponent this season.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State head football coach Ryan Day held his weekly media briefing Tuesday from the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. 

The second-ranked Buckeyes travel to Eugene to take on the third-ranked Oregon Ducks on Saturday. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m.

The Buckeyes are 5-0 to start the season and are coming off a 35-7 win against Iowa at Ohio Stadium. The Oregon game will be Ohio State's first against a ranked opponent this season.

The Ducks are also 5-0 to start the season, most recently coming off a double-digit win against Michigan State. 

The Buckeyes have won nine of 10 previous meetings, the only loss coming in the most recent matchup in 2021.

Following Day's update Tuesday afternoon, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and starting quarterback Will Howard also spoke with the media.
