COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State running back Miyan Williams is embarking on his next chapter in football and has announced his plans to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.

Williams, who is out for the 2023 season due to an undisclosed injury, made the announcement on Twitter Monday afternoon, thanking his teammates, coaches, fans and family for their help and support throughout his college football career.

Williams wrote, “I have decided to enter my name in the 2024 NFL Draft. As I take these next steps in life I will forever be a Buckeye for life. O-H!!”

He played in six games this season for the Buckeyes, rushing for 158 yards and three touchdowns on 49 attempts. He also caught four passes for 42 yards.

As of Oct. 31, it was unclear if Williams would be returning to Ohio State next year since he still has a year of eligibility left.

His full statement is included below:

“First, I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity to play this game. I am nothing without him. It has been an honor and a privilege to play at Ohio State. I would like to start by thanking the university and the Best Damn Band In The Land and the Best Damn Fans In The Land for the opportunity to play for you.

“To my teammates, Y’all are my brothers. Y’all are really family to me I know I could count on y’all if I ever needed something. I’m definitely gonna miss all the moments we had and all the practices, workouts, lifts mat drills, and conditioning. Definitely gonna miss suiting up and running out of the tunnel and playing in The Shoe with y’all. The bonds we built are for life. I love all y’all boys, man.

“To my coaches, the trainers and all of the support staff, thank you for all the support along the way. I am a better person and player because of you.

“To my mom, I love you. Thank you for being my rock. I appreciate everything you have done for me and all the sacrifices you’ve made for me to be where I am at in my life now. I just wanna thank you for always being that person I can come to about any and everything. It’s time for me to embark on my next chapter and making my dreams of playing in the NFL a reality. I have decided to enter my name in the 2024 NFL Draft. As I take these next steps in life I will forever be a Buckeye for life. O-H!!”
