COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was named the Big Ten co-offensive player of the week for his perfomance against Penn State on Saturday.
It's his second Big Ten honor in the last three weeks.
Harrison caught a career-high 11 passes for 162 yards in Ohio State's 20-12 win over Penn State at Ohio Stadium. He scored an 18-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter that gave the Buckeyes a 20-6 lead.
Nine of Harrison’s 11 receptions resulted in first downs. He also became the first player in program history to have five games of 160 or more yards receiving, according to Ohio State Athletics.
Through seven games, Harrison ranks seventh nationally in receiving yards per game with 109.4 and and seventh in receiving yards with 766. His string of three consecutive 100-yard receiving games is two shy of an Ohio State record, which was set by Cris Carter in 1986.
Harrison shared the Big Ten offensive honors this week with Michigan's J.J. McCarthy. The junior quarterback completed 21 of 27 passes for 287 yards and added a career-high four touchdown passes in the Wolverines' 49-0 victory over Michigan State.
