Ohio State halftime show: TBDBITL presents 'The Music of Earth, Wind & Fire'

The band showcased some of the top hits including Beijo, Let's Groove, September, Boogie Wonderland and more.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Best Damn Band In The Land put on quite the performance to open the season on Saturday.

The Ohio State Marching Band highlighted music from Earth, Wind & Fire during the halftime show.

The band showcased some of the top hits including Beijo, Let's Groove, September, Boogie Wonderland and more.

Earth, Wind & Fire was formed in 1969 and has won more than a dozen awards, including multiple Grammys over the last 50 years.

You can watch the halftime performance below.

What may have been even more thrilling was the band performing "Script Ohio" for a second time on the day, but legendary Buckeye Archie Griffin dotted the 'i' at the end.

Not many people have dotted the 'i' besides band members. It's an honor that Griffin doesn't take lightly.

“The opportunity, in Ohio Stadium, to dot the “i” is a very special honor,” said Griffin said last month when it was announced he would participate in the tradition. “I know that Woody was proud to have had that opportunity, and I am following in his footsteps and am extremely proud of this opportunity.”

During Griffin's collegiate career, he rushed for a school-record 5,589 yards on 924 carries and scored 26 rushing touchdowns. Griffin also has a pair of Silver Footballs, which are presented annually by the Chicago Tribune to the Big Ten's MVP.

Previous honorary i-dotters include comedian Bob Hope (1978), Woody Hayes (1983), Jack Nicklaus (2006), Sen. John and Annie Glenn (2009) and Marching Band director emeritus Jon R. Woods (2011). The most recent was former football coach Earle Bruce who dotted the "i" in 2016.
