COLUMBUS, Ohio — Demand for tickets to "The Game" between Ohio State and Michigan is soaring as the No. 2 Buckeyes prepare to face their rivals at Ohio Stadium. Fans are willing to pay premium prices to witness a decisive victory over the Wolverines.
Jamie Kaufman, owner of Dream Seats on 5th Avenue in Columbus, says his clients are hoping to see a dominant Ohio State performance.
"What people are saying is that they just want to see us have the highest score we've ever had against them," Kaufman explains. "They're not happy about the last few years at all and they want to see some redemption there."
The matchup is drawing fans from across the nation, with many combining their Thanksgiving plans with the game.
"They come in from everywhere," Kaufman said. "It really helps now with the game being on Thanksgiving week. They're making a trip, seeing their family here for Thanksgiving and, oh by the way, the Michigan game too."
However, securing a seat for this highly anticipated clash comes at a steep price. While the minimum face value is $196, Kaufman reveals that the actual starting point for tickets is nearly double that amount.
"$300 is the low end for sure and you got to expect that and higher," he said. "Something many people would consider worth sitting in, you know, $400-$500, and then up from there."
For those looking to attend the game, use caution when purchasing tickets. Fans are encouraged to be skeptical of prices that seem too affordable and to always use a credit card for added protection against potential scams.
The game is set to kickoff on Saturday.
