COLUMBUS, Ohio — Marvin Harrison Jr. has cemented his legacy in Ohio State history.
The junior wide receiver became the first Buckeye to have two 1,000-yard receiving seasons with the school.
During Saturday night's game against Michigan State in the second quarter, Harrison surpassed the 1,000-yard mark with a 10-yard catch. Before that, he had five catches for 85 yards and three touchdowns.
Harrison, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, exploded onto the college football scene last year as a sophomore. He recorded 77 catches for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns. Coming into the Michigan State game, he had 52 catches for 914 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Harrison is expected to be a top 5 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft next April. It wouldn't be surprising if he was drafted number one overall, depending on the team who ends up drafting in that spot.
Earlier this year, he also became the first Buckeye to have five straight 160-yard receiving games.
Ohio State has been dubbed by many sports fans as "Wide Receiver University" with the amount of stud pass catchers coming out of the school as of late.
Over the last several years, there have been multiple wide receivers come out of the program who have made a name for themselves in the NFL: Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Michael Thomas, Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks last year and is starting to see his snap percentage go up while he plays behind veteran WRs D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. He did catch the game winning touchdown against the Cleveland Browns last month.
Whatever team lands Harrison next year will undoubtedly be the WR1 and a massive threat on the offensive side of the ball.
