COLUMBUS, Ohio — After spending five seasons with Ohio State, wide receiver Kamryn Babb announced his inspirational career as a Buckeye has come to an end.
In a message posted to social media on Tuesday, Babb announced he's excited to start the next chapter by sharing his story.
“My path at Ohio State is not the one I would've chosen. It was chosen for me to share with the world,” he said.
To say Babb had some setbacks during his time in Columbus would be an understatement as he lost multiple seasons due to injuries.
He joined the Buckeyes in 2018 and tore his ACL before his first training camp, missing the entire season.
Then, an injury during spring practice forced Babb to sit out the entire 2019 season.
In the shortened 2020 season, he returned to the field after overcoming both of those injuries.
But in 2021, another setback as Babb suffered a knee injury and missed a third season.
This past season, after everything he had been through, Babb finally had a moment that he and Buckeye Nation will never forget.
In the fourth quarter against Indiana on Nov. 12, Babb would catch his first career pass as a Buckeye. Not only was it a catch, but it was also for a touchdown.
At that point, Babb dropped to his knees after the catch. After giving him a moment to let it all soak in, Buckeye quarterback C.J. Stroud and other offensive players rushed to him in the end zone.
The celebration then moved to the sidelines as more teammates and coaches embraced Babb and offered up congratulations.
In his message, Babb went on to give credit to God and Jesus Christ for giving him brothers, trainers and coaches who carried him when he wanted to give up.
“The Brotherhood of Ohio State is real and it was a constant source of strength for me the past five years,” he said. “Ohio has become my home the past five years and I wouldn't change a thing.”
He also thanks Buckeye Nation for their supporting him along his journey.
