10 Things To Know: Minnesota vs. Ohio State

The Buckeyes welcome the Minnesota Golden Gophers to Columbus for the last game of the season at the 'Shoe.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — It's the last home game of the season for the Ohio State Buckeyes. It's been a fun ride so far where we've seen Marvin Harrison Jr. become the unquestioned top wide receiver in the country.

The Buckeyes welcome the Minnesota Golden Gophers to Columbus for the last game of the season at the 'Shoe.

Here's this week's 10 Things To Know:

  1. Marvin Harrison Jr.'s three touchdowns against Michigan State was the fourth such game in his career. No other Ohio State receiver has had more.
  2. Ohio State and Minnesota have only played each other five times since 2014. The Buckeyes have only played three Big Ten teams less in the last decade - Iowa (twice), Purdue and Illinois (three times)
  3. All six of Ohio State’s TDs in the 2021 game vs. Minnesota, a 45-31 win, were 30-yards or more, including a 71-yard rush by Miyan Williams and a 70-yard reception by TreVeyon Henderson.
  4. TreVeyon Henderson is getting the Buckeye run game going again. Ohio State has averaged 165.6 rushing yards a game the last three contests. The three prior games: 97.6 yards per game.
  5. One has to go back 16 years, to 2007, for the last time an Ohio State defense did not allow a 20-point scoring game through the first 10 games of the season.
  6. The 99 points allowed by the defense is fourth-fewest this century, after the 2006 team allowed 75 points, the 2007 team allowed 97 and the 2019 team allowed 98.
  7. Cade Stover is third among TEs in Buckeye history with 75 career receptions and with 988 receiving yards. He is also tied third with nine touchdowns.
  8. Both WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and RB TreVeyon Henderson have scored touchdowns in six consecutive games. Harrison Jr. has scored 10 touchdowns in this stretch while Henderson has scored nine.
  9. Ohio State, which limited Michigan State to just 88 passing yards, is ranked 2nd nationally in fewest passing yards allowed at 149.8 per game.
  10. Ohio State is tied with seven other teams with a nation's best four defensive touchdowns.
