COLUMBUS, Ohio — New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson capped off his first season in the NFL by being named the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.
The former Ohio State Buckeye led all rookies and set rookie franchise records with 83 receptions for 1,103 yards.
He had at least 75 receiving yards in eight games this season, the most games of all rookies. Wilson was one of two rookies to record two receiving touchdowns in more than one game this season.
Wilson was the first Buckeye taken in last year's NFL Draft going 10th overall to the Jets.
In his final season in Columbus, Wilson was named a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association and The Athletic after catching 70 passes for 1,054 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also earned second-team All-Big Ten Conference honors.
