Ohio State’s Jacy Sheldon honored with USBWA All-America recognition

Iowa senior guard Caitlin Clark also earned first team All-America honors for the fourth time in her college career.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State guard Jacy Sheldon received third team All-America recognition and Cotie McMahon was an honorable mention pick, the United States Basketball Writers Association announced Tuesday.

Sheldon is a graduate student at The Ohio State University and was a first team All-Big Ten member this season, including a unanimous selection by Big Ten coaches. This is the first time she has been honored by the organization.

Sophomore forward Cotie McMahon was also a first team All-Big Ten performer, and was an honorable mention All-America pick for her first recognition from the USBWA.

Iowa senior guard Caitlin Clark also earned first team All-America honors for the fourth time in her college career. Clark leads the nation with 31.9 points and 8.9 assists per game and is the Big Ten Conference’s Player of the Year and Big Ten Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.

Clark became NCAA’s all-time leading scorer for both women and men and currently has 3,771 career points.

Mackenzie Holmes, an Indiana graduate student forward, received second team All-America recognition after a unanimous first team All-Big Ten selection. This is the third time that she has earned honors from the USBWA in her career.
