There will be some major construction happening on the east side of Columbus this weekend that will impact travel for many. Here’s what you need to know if you’re driving on the east side:
270 Southbound
All lanes of I-270 southbound at I-70 will closed starting at 8:00 p.m. Friday until Monday at 5:00 a.m. for bridgework.
Drivers who want to stay on I-270 will have to use the ramp lanes for Main Street and I-70. Use the “exit only” lanes that are typically used for traffic entering and exiting I-270 south.
I-70
I-70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction at I-270 Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Ramp closures
The following ramps will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.:
- I-70 west to I-270 south
Detour: I-70 west to James Road south to US 33 east to I-270 south. - I-270 north to I-70 west
Detour: I-270 north to US 40 (Main Street) west to I-270 south to I-70 west. - The ramp from I-270 south to I-70 east will be closed Friday and Saturday night from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Detour is I-270 south to I-70 west to SR 317 (Hamilton Road) south to I-70 east.
