Some New Albany residents woke up Monday morning to little or no water pressure because of a huge water main break.
The pipeline burst happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Lambton Park Road.
New Albany police say water shot out 100 feet in the air from the ruptured pipeline.
Below freezing temperatures caused the water to freeze across the roadway, trees and nearby stop signs.
Authorities closed Lambton Park Road between U.S. 62 and Lambton Green.
Police say the water will stop the water running through the pipe until Monday afternoon to prevent water from running backwards through the pipe and contaminating water for residents starting their day.
No boil alert was issued.
