Utica High School gym open for flooding victims needing shelter

UTICA, Ohio -- There were numerous reports of flooded roadways and water rescues in Utica Saturday night. Police said the Utica High School gymnasium was opened to help people who needed a place to stay.

A reporter with our partners at the Newark Advocate tweeted about several water rescues in the village, which sits in both Licking and Knox Counties.

Photos and videos shared with 10TV show high waters and homes surrounded by flooding.

The Ohio Department of Transportation wants drivers to remember the phrase turn around, don't drown.
