A Norfolk Sounthern train has derailed in the northern part of Delaware County.
The accident occurred Tuesday afternoon on the Norfolk Southern track near Horseshoe Road and U.S. 42. Derailment caused damage to both the Norfolk and CSX rail-lines
Thirty-six train cars were involved in the incident. Three cars will be re-railed. 33 train cars will be moved to the side of the tracks. 1,500 feet of track was damaged during the derailment.
Authorities say the train was carrying corn and no hazardous materials were involved.
No injuries have been reported.
Because of the derailment, Horseshoe Road is closed between Hudson Street and Shortcut Road. The Delaware County Sheriff's Office reports the road will stay closed until Wednesday afternoon.
Crews are expected to removed all of the cars from the track over the next two days.
Cause of the derailment is under investigation.
