A tow truck operator was struck and killed early Friday while preparing to tow a vehicle on thecity's south side.
Seth Hicks was securing a pickup to the flatbed of his tow truck on U.S. Route 23 south, nearRathmell Road, at about 1:30 a.m. when he was struck by an American Electric Power vehicle, 10TV'sTino Ramos reported.
Hicks, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hicks worked for Fletcher's Towing Service in Circleville.
His employer told 10TV News that he was well-loved by his co-workers, Ramos reported.
"The time he's been here, he's been a wonderful person to work with," said Mandy Manering. "He'sa happy-go-lucky person and a very hard worker. Everybody liked him. It's going to be a very verybig loss here at the company.
Investigators said charges were not expected to be filed against the driver of the AEPvehicle.
