WWMT -- A Michigan woman is getting attention on social media after sharing a heartwarming encounter at a Meijer bakery.

Lisa Aldrich went to Meijer in Gaines Township in Michigan on Sunday to pick out a birthday cake.  She says she asked an employee behind the bakery counter if she could write on the cake, but the writing wasn't as neat as you would expect, but she thanked her anyway and went to check out.

When she got there, other employees thanked her for her kindness, explaining that the woman behind the counter has autism and doesn't normally write on cakes.

Aldrich wrote in a Facebook post that employees told her '"Thank you for smiling and thanking her- even though she's not supposed to write on cakes, you probably made her day.' So I guess the moral of the story is that kindness is important!"
