Police on Monday arrested and charged a man in connection with the fatal shooting of arestaurant employee on the city's west side.
Investigators said Christopher Henderson was working at Tim Hortons, located at the corner ofWest Broad Street and Central Avenue, at about 5 a.m. when he looked outside and saw someonebreaking into his Honda Civic, 10TV's Patrick Bell reported.
"Christopher came out to confront the guy and the guy took off," said Henderson's uncle, ShawnGriffey. "He jumped in his car, went looking for him and found him at the bank."
"It looked like there was a fight outside the car," said Columbus police Sgt. Rich Weiner."He tried to make it back to the Tim Hortons but did not."

The gunman shot Henderson, 20, once in the chest. He collapsed in the parking lot and waspronounced dead at the scene, Bell reported.
"He's a hard worker, a dedicated father and is dedicated to his family," Griffey said. "He'syoung, trying to do something good and it was all just taken away from him."
10TV News learned that shortly after the shooting, a man went to a bar near Glenwood andSullivant avenues and drew suspicion from the patrons. According to witnesses, the man ordered adrink and started talking about shooting another man. The talk prompted the bartender to call911.
"This guy came in at 5:47 (a.m.) and he said he got into an altercation up by Tim Hortons," thebartender told the dispatcher, "and he said he shot the guy in the stomach."
Witnesses said that half a dozen police officers arrived and tackled the man in an alley nearCypress Avenue. The man, who was identified as Corey Laney, was arrested and charged withHenderson's murder, Kocot reported.
Police on Monday did not elaborate on possible motive in the shooting, but witnesses in the barclaimed that Laney was asking if anyone wanted to buy a stolen car radio for $30, Kocotreported.
