Tennessee prison officials have released a woman who was convicted of murder and then became a fugitive for 32 years living under an alias in Ohio.
Attorney Stephen Ross Johnson said Margo Freshwater was released Tuesday from a Memphis jail.
Freshwater said in a statement she was thankful to be reuniting with the family she made while on the lam.
Freshwater reached a plea agreement with prosecutors last week in the 1966 shooting death of a liquor store clerk.
She was convicted of first-degree murder in 1969 and sentenced to 99 years, but one year later she scaled a wall of the Tennessee Prison for Women.
She returned to prison in 2002 after she was found living quietly in Columbus with a husband and children.
