Investigators with the Columbus Division of Fire have determined a house explosion and fire in south Columbus may have been caused by a criminal act.
According to officials, 31-year-old Lucas Talbot admitted to removing the copper plumbing and other recyclable metals from the home on Stockbridge Road.
Investigators believe that Talbot caused a gas leak in the basement which led to the explosion on March 25.
The home had just been purchased a week before the explosion. No one was in the home at the time of the explosion.
The Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted Talbot on charges of aggravated arson and breaking and entering.
