Authorities on Wednesday pulled a car from Hoover Reservoir, and investigators were working toidentify a body that was found inside.
The car was spotted about 40 feet from shore by watershed employees who were removing docks nearMaxtown and Sunbury roads, 10TV's Lindsey Seavert reported.
Police and dive teams were called to investigate the car, and a tow truck pulled the car fromthe water shortly after 2 p.m.
The Honda Civic was caked with mud and algae. According to police, a body was discovered in thedriver's seat, Seavert reported.
"It's been there more than a while -- a couple of years," said Genoa Twp. police ChiefRobert Taylor.
Investigators would not elaborate on how the car may have ended up in the water.
"Normally water drops this low and we find stolen cars," Taylor said. "This is unusual forus."
The body was taken to a coroner for identification. Columbus Police homicide detectives wereassisting in the investigation.
