Police said a special education teacher was one of two people arrested Thursday on drugcharges.

Authorities served a search warrant at a home on Mansfield Street in Galion and arrested LauraSaylor and her boyfriend, Christopher Goodwin, 10TV's Danielle Elias reported.

Saylor, who teaches at Grant Middle School in Marion, was wanted on felony warrants of drugtrafficking after she sold drugs to undercover officers, Galion police Chief Brian Saterfieldsaid.

She was being held at the Crawford County Jail.

Dr. Jim Barney, the superintendent of Marion City Schools, said news of Saylor's arrest came asa surprise.

"We had a background check done by the FBI in June and it came back clean," he said.  "So,(it) completely caught us off guard."

Investigators said a search of the home turned up marijuana, drug paraphernalia, prescriptionmedication and cash.  While large amounts of drugs were not found, Saterfield said the casewas troubling because children were living in the home where drugs were sold.

"It is my understanding they were probably present during some of the transactions," Saterfieldsaid.

Relatives were caring for the children, Elias reported.

Goodwin, 26, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and issued asummons to appear in municipal court.
