FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a plane crash that happened Saturday evening in Fairfield County.
According to OSHP, the crash happened around 6:50 p.m. near the intersection of State Route 37 and State Route 204.
OSHP said there was an unknown mechanical issue that led to the crash.
Investigators with OSHP said the plane hit electrical wires and crashed into a cornfield before catching on fire.
Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen told 10TV that the pilot is OK and was up and walking after the crash.
The pilot was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
