Parents whose children attend Deshler Elementary were among those who attended a meeting Mondayto learn more about the Columbus City School District's reassignment plan, 10TV's Tanisha Mallettreported.
Deshler is one of nine Columbus City Schools that will close at the end of the school year.
Parents can choose to have their children attend the school they are assigned, or they can enterthe School Choice lottery system.
One parent told 10TV News she is pleased with Deshler Elementary, but unsure about other schoolsin the neighborhood.
"I am thinking probably another school in the district and not so much in the neighborhood,"said Rhonda Palmer. "From the information that I have been able to obtain, I am not happywith test scores from the schools in the neighborhood."
There will be a meeting for parents at each of the nine schools that will close.
A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at the Literature Based Alternative school at HubbardElementary.
