SLIDESHOW: Easton Shooting

Andrake was a quiet, sweet boy, family said. His parents admit his brother Andrewhas a troubled history that included several run-ins with the law and a worrisome fixation withguns.

"That's what we've been dealing with, issues with him having a gun," Andre Kelleysaid.

When the family came to Easton on Saturday night, Andre Kelley and his ex-wife saidthey had no idea Andrew had a gun on him.

The parents went one way, the brothers went another, McEntyre reported.

The next time they saw Andrake, was in the hospital with a gunshot wound to hishead.

Andrew told them there was an argument with another group of young people thatstarted to escalate, and said he felt threatened.

Police said he told them he fired shots into the air and never intended to shoothis brother.

"He was about to shoot in the air to get the tension away from them, and when thathappened, somebody supposedly hit his arm," Andre Kelley said. "And when they hit his arm, hisbrother, he thinks, got caught in that crossfire."

The boys' mother said he is sorry for the mistake that will change his familyforever.

"He said 'I'm sorry, it happened so fast, I love you, you're my little bro. Hang inthere, I need you. Please don't leave me,'" said the boys' mother, Karla Richardson.

Angry with what they called Andrew's recklessness, they still defended hisintentions.

"He's paying greatest sacrifice. He lost his own brother," Andre Kelley said. "He'snot a murderer. This situation, it's an accident."
