Ohio State's Uniforms Unveiled For Michigan Game

Ohio State will wear throwback uniforms dating to 1942 when it battles Michigan on Nov. 27, Nikeannounced on Wednesday.

The company unveiled it's Pro Combat series jerseys in New York for 10 college football programsreflecting the teams' traditions, character and culture, according to a Nike press release.

The Buckeyes first won a national championship in college football in 1942, and captain CharlesCsuri was asked to deliver the uniform's story.  Csuri, a decorated World War II veteran andthe father of digital art and animation, played football with a leather helmet.

Although the Buckeyes will be wearing their more modern helmets against the Wolverines, theywill be scarlet in color, just like they were in 1942.

According to Nike, the uniforms will have stylized script numbers, a replica U.S. flag on thejersey sleeve and the camouflage-print base layer honoring the World War II-bound team.

Other football programs that will wear specialized uniforms include Alabama, Boise State,Florida, Miami, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, Texas Christian, Virginia Tech and WestVirginia.
